Zarah ran through the new forest. It was peaceful, and tall, and cool. She ran up a tree and jumped from branch to branch like a monkey smiling. Fun, fun, fun, but she was getting thirsty. It had been a while since her last hunt. She smelled the air carefully for any human scents, when she smelled something surprising. It was the smell of other vampires.
Why there would be other vampires out here, in the middle of nowhere, she wasn't completely sure. But they might get mad if she hunted on their land. Zarah could smell that it had been a bit since they were last in the immediate area of the forest, but it was a fairly fresh trail. She wondered if she should follow it, but realized that it was more than one vampire that had been here. That scared her slightly. She was alone, and if they decided to attack... That would be bad. There were traces of other scents too, or more like stenches. It was an unfamiliar trail, not vampire, but clearly not a regular human or animal, but she wasn't going to follow it.
And as the sun went down, Zarah began to feel intimidated by the huge forest. She could tear her way out of it by herself if she wanted to, but it was too easy for someone else to hide in the forest. Not easy, but not hard. And it should be hard to hide from a vampire. Zarah felt lonely. 'Just keep on going,' Zarah thought to herself. She shouldn't be scared at all, and she quickly tricked the fear out of her mind. That's what you get for always living in the big cities.

Leah sat in her 'wolf form' getting more and more anxious..and annoyed. Seth promised her that he would join her hunting after school. No, he didn't need to be picked up. He insisted. Leah wondered if her little brother was em brassed of her. Why? What was wrong with her? Hang on..what was that smell? Her head snapped up. Vampire. She growled.
She ran toward the scent. The scent was definitely not familiar. Leah had spent enough time around the Cullen's to know what they smelt like. Her fur rose with every step she took.
Leah stopped just before a fallen tree. The stranger was close by. Should I approach them? She thought. Or wait until Seth gets here? Who are they?Curiosity got the better of her. She lowered herself closer to the ground and slunk closer to the scent. I hope this doesn't get me killed. I'm quick..but I might not be quick enough..

Zarah heard quiet rustling noises in the forest. Too quiet to be a normal animal or human. She froze, hoping that if it was one of the vampires that it wouldn't fight. Zarah didn't like fighting. She wasn't that bad at it, but she'd rather just run away. Running didn't help much when there were enough enemies to corner you.
Right after hearing the sound, Zarah took in a breathe of air to see if she smelled vampires close by, but she didn't smell vampires at all. It was a smell she didn't recognize, and it did not smell good. Zarah jumped around to see what the smell belonged to.
Zarah saw a pair of eyes looking at her from low on the ground. The animal was behind a few ferns and a fallen tree. It was exactly like a wolf, only bigger. That confused her. It wasn't a wolf, it couldn't be. Wolves didn't smell like that. But what was it? Zarah thought at first that the smell might not be the wolf's scent, but the scent of something hiding and the wolf was all she could see. Zarah knew that couldn't be it though.
"Hello?" she said softly and foolishly to the animal. Its eyes looked smarter than an animals should, but Zarah had never seen a real wolf like that before. She'd seen dogs though, and that gave her a bit of an idea.

"Hello?" The vampire said softly. The growl in Leah's throat froze. Hello? She thought, confused. Most vampires would be leaping at her, ready to rip her throat out. Maybe she's a new born. Jake, Seth, wherever you are, Leah thought. You might want to check this out.
Leah crawled cautiously towards the vamp. A voice inside her head told her she was being stupid. She knew that voice. It was 'mean Leah.' The same one that told her she should be making this vampire into confetti. So, why aren't I? What's stopping me?
Leah leapt onto another log. She stood there, glaring at the vampire. 20 minutes. That's all I'll give her. So someone better show before then.

The wolf jumped onto another fallen tree, and stared a Zarah in a way that oddly scared her. Zarah noticed something; a want to kill the wolf. It was an odd instinct, and so different from the one that made her kill people. She didn't want the odd wolf's blood, just she didn't want the animal to live. Zarah wasn't sure if she could kill it though. She wasn't the best fighter, and the wolf was big. It was foolish that she thought that; she was a vampire, and if she wanted the stupid wolf dead, it should be as easy as if she were killing one of the dogs that humans walked on leashes in the city. Even so, she didn't think the wolf was weak. Zarah knew it couldn't be completely alone, she'd learned somewhere that they lived in packs.
Zarah met the wolf's angry glare, and glared back at it. She felt like yelling at it, but she knew that the animal wouldn't understand her. Zarah turned around and walked away slowly. She turned her head and the wolf was still staring at her. 'Danger,' Zarah thought, though she didn't know why. She didn't want to turn her back on the wolf when its eyes were on her. She wanted to be facing it, so that it couldn't hurt her if it was strong enough to. Somehow, oddly, Zarah didn't doubt it. Zarah stared back at the wolf and growled; first very soft, then growing slightly louder. Zarah felt stupid. Her instincts were telling her that the wolf should be killed, and that it was dangerous. She should take some action to that. Killing it should be easy, and outrunning it easy too.

The vamp glared right back at her and she gulped. So much for back up. If worse came to worse, she may have to run for it. Sure, she could probably take her on, but would with out a doubt get beaten up badly.
The vampire growled at her. She obviously didn't know what Leah was. Leah was just a wolf and possibly just an overgrown dog. Leah smiled knowing that this would look strange. I should warn the others. Let them know there's a new vampire around. Leah jumped down. I wonder, she mused, if I ran away, would she follow? Leah started to run back towards the Cullen place. Jacob was sure to be there. And hopefully some (if not all of the Cullens).

ooc: I wrote a whole big post, and guess what happened? I forgot to hit reply and just Xed out! omg lol. Now I have to write the same thing over again. The wolf got up and ran off into the forest. Zarah stared after it. That was odd. She at first decided to turn away and just leave the forest. Yeah, save the trees and wildlife and stuff, but it wasn't for her. She didn't really want to go around hugging trees, and deer, and well, wolves, (ooc: lol, the irony! {click me (with your best shot) } ) haha! petting wolves, lol! sorry, couldn't resist that....), but she was all for being good for the environment and crap like that. Not that she really did anything at all involving that. Maybe she'd head off to Seattle, or one of the nearby towns. Zarah wasn't wandering through forests. But the wolf caught her attention. Where was it going? For whatever reason, Zarah decided to follow it. She began running off in the direction it had went. She could smell it, and it didn't smell good, and so she ran just as fast as she had seen the animal run. She didn't want to catch up to it and have it attack her or something. She had been following it for a little bit when she was reminded of something that had all but left her mind. The wolf had distracted her from the vampires. Their smell was getting stronger. Zarah slowed down, but for whatever reason kept following the animal. ooc: i just wrote it even longer ;D
